This is extremely well done.

I drive down this street every single day on my way home after work. Many others do too since it connects to Broadway and many downtown and mayo employees will take it to hop onto Highway 52.

But as I made my way down 6th street southwest Sunday afternoon while running errands, I noticed something from afar on the bridge. At first I thought it was a giant burn mark or maybe some mud had splashed up onto it somehow... but as I got closer, I saw that it was something way more beautiful.

Somebody had to have painted this over the weekend sometime because I don't remember seeing it back on Friday night after work? I was so impressed by the picture that I had to pull over and take a closer look at it.

With Saint Mary's Hospital just a few blocks from this spot, perhaps the artist took inspiration from that?  Could she be one of the Sisters of Saint Francis of Rochester, or maybe Mother Alfred Moes herself? It's hard to say, but I was extremely impressed by it.

Rochester's art scene doesn't get anywhere near the credit it deserves, and while this could be seen as defacing public property, you can't be upset at the artist's vision because the finished product is amazingly done.
