In times of tragedy, people are always looking for a way to help.  With the events that took place in Dallas, Texas late on Thursday, this is no exception.  Five officers were shot and killed, while 11 others were injured by snipers.

There is currently a organization set up to help assist officers and their families after such an event, and it's called Assist The Officer.

What they do:

"The Assist The Officer Foundation provides financial assistance to officers who are facing the loss of income due to a serious injury, life-threatening illness or other catastrophic event. Immediate assistance is also available to an officer’s family in the event of the death of an active officer."

There are also so many other things you can do to help out:

  • Donate Blood
  • Listen for fundraisers or charity events in/around your community
  • Keep them in your thoughts and prayers
