The unofficial high-temperature for Rochester on Monday was only 11-degrees, which set a new record for the coldest high temperature in the city on November 17th. The previous record was set in 1959 when it warmed to 16-degrees.

The mercury is expected to plunge to near zero in Rochester by Tuesday morning, which would be the coldest it has been in about eight months. The last time Rochester experienced temperatures around zero or below zero was in early March when the readings hit the teens below zero.

The gusty northwest winds that caused blowing and drifting snow and prompted a winter weather advisory for most of the day Monday should subside a bit by Tuesday morning, but forecasters are still predicting gusts of around 25 miles per hour, which could produce wind chills in the -15 to -20 range.
