Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man went before and Olmsted County judge today and was sentenced to 16 months in prison for a brutal attack on another man earlier this year.

The 43-year-old Robert Warren was originally charged with 1st-degree assault but was allowed to enter a guilty plea to a 3rd-degree charge. He was arrested in March after witnesses saw him repeatedly stomping on my head of a 31-year-old man, who was left with multiple facial and skull fractures. The victim also suffered a severe ear injury that required emergency surgery.

When the incident occurred in the 1500 block of 11th street southeast, Warren was described by police as homeless. He claimed his actions came after “the other guy” jumped him.
