It's a pretty cool tale of an incredible journey. Not a journey involving people traveling, but one involving the moving of school desks...

I imagine you're already asking yourself, "What could possibly be so cool about school desks?" Well, here's the answer.

The Byron School District was looking to get rid of some school desks. But instead of simply throwing the desks away, the school district teamed up with Autumn Ridge Church in Rochester to send the desks on a truly incredible journey.

Volunteers from Autumn Ridge picked the desks up, packed them for transport and sent them on their way - to Mamou, Guinea! How cool is that? According to a report from UNICEF, Guinea has one of the lowest literacy rates in the world, and despite primary education being free from age 7 through 12, only 63 percent of boys and 53 percent of girls attend. So, something as basic as nice, clean, functional desks can make a big impact on learning there.

Autumn Ridge Church posted this photo to its Facebook page, of the children in Guinea using their new desks. Now, they can sit and learn in relative comfort. People helping people. Does it get better than that?
