Hundreds Brave Wet, Cool Weather For Rochester’s Gobble Wobble
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -The Rochester Salvation Army will benefit from the 4th annual Thanksgiving Day Gobble Wobble that was held Thursday morning at Autumn Ridge Church.
Salvation Army spokesman Dave Ferber says preliminary figures show about 1,000 people registered this year. Ferber says the event may have brought in more than $20,000, which would be a record.
The event was organized by Rochester Moms on the Run in 2012 to support Salvation Army programs that assist families and individuals in Olmsted County.
While the fundraiser was underway, volunteers were busy preparing the Salvation Army’s traditional Thanksgiving Day dinner.
More than 40 volunteers were involved this year and they were prepared for a crowd of 200.
