Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Wednesday’s mass and deadly shooting at a high school in Florida has once again raised questions about new-age security and whether changes already made can really prevent such violence.

In the aftermath of several large-scale shootings at schools, churches, and workplaces, public safety officials have adopted new policies they hope can deter future attacks, or at least minimize the number of casualties.

Rochester Police Capt. John Sherwin has been involved in local efforts to prepare for such attacks and was asked to discuss some of his department’s policies and his thoughts on this most recent mass killing.

Here’s his conversation with KROC AM’s Kim David.
