The heat is expected to last through the weekend – maybe a bit cooler than it will be on Friday – but anything beyond that is rather unpredictable at this point.

Boy, if you haven't had anyone out to look at your AC unit yet this summer you're not going to like this one bit.

Per the most recent forecast given on their Facebook page, the National Weather Service out of La Crosse, Wisconsin says:

Heat and humidity returns for Thursday through Saturday. Friday looks to be the hottest of the days with temperatures topping out in the low to mid 90s. Add in the humidity and afternoon heat indices from 100 to 105 F can be expected. Plan ahead for these heat related stresses, especially if you have outdoor plans.

Sorry, my only "plans" will consist of waking up Saturday, shutting all the blinds in the house and retreating to our much cooler basement with my daughter with plenty of painting/coloring books in hand to keep her busy all weekend.

If this makes you anxious, you're definitely not alone and it sounds like the heat will continue for the foreseeable future. The Weather Channel says almost all of Minnesota can expect warmer than normal temperatures in July, followed by a cooler than normal August.

I guess I'll believe it when I see it. In the meantime, you'd best get that AC fixed!
