Jail and Probation for High Speed Chase in Stolen Pickup
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Wabasha County man has been sentenced to 4 ½ months in jail and three years on probation for a conviction stemming from a high-speed chase near Rochester that ended after a State Trooper fired his gun.
26-year-old David Collier of Kellogg entered a guilty plea to a felony count of fleeing a peace officer last week.
He was arrested in March after he led officers on a 15 mile chase in a stolen pickup truck, during which he crashed head-on into a State Patrol vehicle. That prompted another trooper to ram into the stolen pickup in an effort to disable the vehicle, but Collier responded by ramming into the side of the trooper’s cruiser, which spurred the officer to fire three shots at the pickup.
A passenger in the pickup, 24-year-old Courtney Archer of Rochester, was also arrested and was also charged with fleeing a peace officer.
