Preston, MN (KROC-AM News) - An Illinois man has been sentenced to 90 days in jail and two years on probation for a conviction stemming from a fatal traffic crash two years ago.

66-year-old Thomas Rodts recently entered an Alford plea to a gross misdemeanor criminal vehicular homicide charge, which means he does not admit guilt but acknowledges there is enough evidence for a conviction.

The Minnesota State Patrol says Rodts was driving a pickup that turned in front of a motorcycle on a rural road in Fillmore County, causing the collision that fatally injured in a 61-year-old Robert Patrillo of Lanesboro.
