Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - There’s been a major departure at the Rochester Post Bulletin.

Executive Editor Jay Furst is no longer with the paper.

There was no official announcement of his departure, which apparently took place Tuesday.

Furst had this post on his personal Facebook account Wednesday:

Available: Experienced journalist and communicator, special interest in bridge-building and community engagement, with 24 years of knowledge, perspective and insight on Rochester and Southeast Minnesota. Thrives on coffee, doughnuts and conversation.

Besides his duties as executive editor, Furst also provided the popular “Answer Man” column to the paper’s readers.

The PB has been undergoing major changes in recent years due to higher costs and declining readership. Among them were the elimination of holiday and Friday editions.

The paper just recently announced the hiring of a new publisher.
