The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a daytime burglary in Byron that resulted in the theft of some expensive jewelry.

A spokesman says the homeowners discovered the break-in Tuesday afternoon at their residence near the Sumerby Golf Club. It’s believed the thief, or thieves broken into the home between 11:30 a.m and 1:30 p.m. by forcing open a lower-level sliding glass door.

The stolen items included two Rolex watches and the total loss was estimated at around $60,000 dollars.
