Kasson Man Sentenced in Graddy Case
Mantorville, MN (KROC AM News) - A Kasson man has been sentenced to two years probation for a conviction stemming from the drug-related death of a Byron teenager.
20-year-old Darrian Rice was also ordered to pay a $900 fine and $4200 in restitution. He pleaded guilty to a gross misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor for his role in the death of 15-year-old Noah Graddy.Rice was originally charged with manslaughter in the case, but that count was dismissed by a judge.
Graddy was last seen alive January 22nd of last year at Rice’s home in Kasson, where he had gone with friends to do drugs. Rice was accused of later ordering Graddy to leave, and while the others in the house were in another room, Graddy apparently left to walk home. His body was found two months later, less than a mile from Rice’s home.
An autopsy determined he died from hypothermia and acute drug intoxication.
