Britney Wins Trio of Moonmen on MTV VMAs
Britney Spears made a convincing return to the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night winning Video of the Year, Best Pop Video and Best Female Video for "Piece of Me." Among the night’s other winners were Chris Brown’s "With You" for Best Male Video, Pussycat Dolls’ "When I Grow Up" nabbing Best Dancing in a Video, Best Rock Video going to Linkin Park’s "Shadow of the Day," and Best Hip-Hop Video going to Lil Wayne’s "Lollipop." Check out all of the winners here:
3 Doors Down for the Count
3 Doors Down have postponed a trio of shows because doctors have recommended that frontman Brad Arnold rest his voice after coming down with acute laryngitis. The nixed gigs had been scheduled for this past Thursday in Wichita, Kan.; Saturday in Cincinnati; and Sunday in Burgettstown, Pa. New dates for the affected concerts will announced "in the near future," according to an online post from the band.
Fall Out BoyFall Out Boy Release Single, Talk Next Disc
Fall Out Boy have posted "I Don't Care," the first single off their upcoming Folie A Deux album, online here. Pete Wentz insists that the disc will sound stripped down compared to the band's last album, 2007's dense Infinity on High. "This time, we focused on making an ambitious record without giving the impression of making an ambitious record," says the bassist. Folie A Deux drops Nov. 4.
BMI Urban Awards Honor T-Pain, West
T-Pain was crowned Songwriter of the Year and shared the Producer of the Year honor Thursday at the BMI Urban Awards in Beverly Hills, Calif. The crooner was saluted for his seven chart-topping songs in 2007. Also winning the Producer of the Year trophy was Kanye West. Song of the Year went to Beyoncé's "Irreplaceable," which was co-penned by multiple winner Ne-Yo. Meanwhile, the Jacksons -- sans Michael and Jermaine -- reunited at the event to receive their BMI Icon Award.
