The annual Litter Bit Better campaign wrapped up on Sunday and a final tally of the trash collected throughout Rochester was announced today.

The week-long effort produced a sizable pile of trash. The total was close to 11-tons and included over 18,000 pounds of garbage and over 3700 pounds of recyclable materials.

Organizers with the city’s RNeighbors group say almost 240 volunteers spent an average of 1 ½ to 2 hours cleaning up over 5100 acres of public land in Rochester.

The list of the weirdest finds this year includes half of a bowling ball.
