Holly Mujica (nee Grimsrud) has artwork featured in some huge venues in Minnesota.  Born in Rochester, raised in Zumbrota and now living in St. Paul, Holly teaches multimedia art in Eagan when she isn't creating pieces to be featured at some of the busiest places in the state.

The next time you are at the Mall of America, keep an eye out for her 64-inch by 32-inch Prince artwork on display through Sept. 30.  "It was a really fun piece," she said. "I put together some drawings called dribble prints. (A play on words — dribble prints, dribble Prince, get it???) I'd taken a basketball dribbled on papers and created these portraits interlaid between them, and I was sort of giving a shout out to Prince being a Minnesota sports fan as well."

Speaking of Minnesota sports, Holly's work also is on display at the Vikings' new US Bank Stadium.  "I've always been interested in sports and played them my whole life and have found ways to bring it into my artwork," she added. They "said they'd like something with a youth sports theme, so I got to run with that within those parameters."

Finally, if you went to the Minnesota State Fair, so might have seen her "Pink Shoes" painting.  "There is a section on my website called locker room tableaus. I was investigating this idea of looking into people's private moments using a locker room narrative to tell that story," Mujica said. "I've been very interested in how people share their private moments, online, through Twitter, Facebook and whatever social media they have."

While all of her pieces are amazing, they all are quite different  "As an artist, you don't want to get locked into a gimmick, and I really enjoy working in many different medias."  Make sure to check out her website hollygrimsrudart.com (it's under her maiden name still )
