Today only, April 21st around lunchtime, subs at Jimmy John's were only a dollar. That’s right, one dollar! Doesn’t that sound like a great, cheap lunch? It is if you're willing to wait in line for one...

I decided to check out the local shop downtown, and I began writing this while in line waiting. Did I mention this line stretched out the door and around the corner of the building? Yeah, It stretched a bit further than the normal lines. The main complaint I heard from the line was “Is it worth it?” or “I'd rather pay full price over having to wait in this line.”

There was one comment that stuck out to me, and that was “I wonder if the weather was bad the line would still be this outrageous.” And my answer to that is yes, because Minnesota nice extends to our weather patterns and ability to withstand the cold. That comment was spawned from the fact that it was 60°F at the time and sunny, though we were shaded by the buildings at the end of the line. Though this deal was available at all Rochester locations, I am unsure how busy the other locations were.

From beginning to end, it took roughly 30 minutes to grab myself a single ham and cheese sandwich, which was gone in two minutes. Overall, not too bad for a cheap lunch. If they were to have a day like this again, I would totally be up for it! It was the perfect thing for a lunch rush, even if the lunch wasn’t exactly rushed.
