Majority of Parents will Try to Do this for Their Kids this Christmas

 T. Rowe Price's Parents, Kids & Money Survey, asked more than 1,000 parents with kids ranging from 8 to 14 year old kids about Christmas shopping. The results show that 54% of parents plan to buy their kid EVERYTHING they ask for.  Parents admit that they are OK overextending their finances to make sure their kid gets what they want. How many of those gifts are going to be played with once and then forgotten about?!? One quarter of the parents surveyed said they would probably have to dip into their 401k or emergency savings account to make this happen.

I have two kids, a 2-year-old and an 8-month-old, so I don't have to worry about extravagant gifts at this point. I know eventually I will buy them nice things but I don't think I'll ever buy them everything they request.
