Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man has been sentenced to over 5 ½ years in prison for a felony drunk driving conviction.

36-year-old Justen Heintzman earlier entered into a plea agreement that resulted in the dismissal of two counts of criminal vehicular operation DUI charge. He was accused of driving drunk and smashing into a number parked vehicles in downtown Rochester last October.

The criminal complaint indicated he had just been denied entry to a bar and got into his car and started crashing in the vehicles in the city-owned parking lot on the west side of the Zumbro River near the Government Center. Some police officers on foot patrol heard the noise and tried to stop Heintzman, who crashed into a truck and penned an officer between it and the car. Another officer drew his gun and pointed it at Heintzman, who still refused to stop. He was finally arrested after the officer broke a window with his baton and used a Taser to subdue Heintzman.

The officer pinned between the truck and the car was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital and treated for a minor injury.
