Man Spends $500,000 To Turn His Basement Into The Starship Enterprise From Star Trek

Anthony Sforza has been collecting Star Trek memorabilia since the 1980s. A few years ago he decided to start selling it off.  Not because his wife made him- yes he's married.  Anthony wanted to sell his collectibles to raise money to build a replica of the Enterprise ship from Star Trek in his basement- yes his basement not his mom's.

He was able to buy an original piece of the set to help him make the bridge in his basement. It took three years, about $500,000, and 1,500 hours to complete the project.

His wife completely supports his obsession and said it looks wonderful.  Judge for yourself-
