Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  A Rochester cabdriver was shaken up but not hurt after a harrowing experience with a customer early Wednesday.

Police say the cabbie had picked up the fare around 12:30 a.m.

The man told the driver he wanted a ride to Byron. A few minutes later, the man began acting strangely. The driver says the man began throwing items out the window and broke his phone. The cabbie says the man then pulled out a knife and made some threatening comments.

The cabbie pulled over on West Circle Drive near the Country Club Manor Kwik Trip store and ran inside the business. The man chased the cabbie, who ran behind the counter and waited for police.

Officers arrived and arrested the man, identified as 33-year-old Dean Klein.

They later found the knife in a garbage can outside the store.
