In what was originally believed to be a record-setting day in St. Paul, only turned out to be a dry run of sorts as one bar tried to create the largest Bloody Mary bar in the world.

History could have been made yesterday, but The Happy Gnome was just as happy to open their doors to the public and practice to break the world record for largest build-your-own Bloody Mary bar. The real test will have to wait until sometime next year.

In an event that would've had my wife swimming with delight, the bar had custom Bloody Mary mixes created for the day, as well as a huge spread featuring typical condiments like meat and cheese plus several exotic options.

For those curious, the current record for items on a build-your-own Bloody Mary bar is 45, established in Fort Collins, Colorado. The Happy Gnome plans to offer 60 items to garnish your drink with.

It's too bad they didn't just break the record yesterday, as now the Fort Collins bar has time to regroup and perhaps challenge The Gnome in keeping it's record. In any case, this should be a lot of delicious fun!
