Over the weekend a Minnesota city celebrated the grand opening of a playground that will give kids of all abilities a place to play!

This amazing story comes out of Woodbury.

The new park is known as Madison’s Place Playground, and was built in honor of a 2 year old girl who died in 2004. Madison had a muscular condition that kept her off most city playgrounds, according to WCCO-TV.

It took six years to raise the nearly-$900,000 needed to build the 16,000-square-foot area. The park is wheelchair accessible and includes rubber flooring, sensory play equipment and a splash park.

According to the Madison Claire Foundation, "Madison’s Place –the Twin Cities’ East Metro’s first completely handicapped accessible, “inclusive playground” where children with and without disabilities can play together side by side to foster friendships, understanding, and acceptance."

The grand opening of the park had a lot of families weeping in happiness over the weekend. Check out the touching story.
