St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - Governor Mark Dayton has ordered U.S. and Minnesota flags be flown at half staff on Sunday in observance of the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

The order covers all government facilities in the state from sunrise through sunset on Sunday, which the governor has officially proclaimed “Patriot Day and A Day of Service and Remembrance.”  Dayton also directed the Minnesota Department of Transportation to illuminate the I-35 bridge in Minneapolis in the colors of the U.S. flag on Sunday.

Along with the rest of the nation, Dayton is asking Minnesotans to observe a moment of silence at 7:46 AM on Sunday to commemorate the moment on September 11th 2011 when the first of the hijacked jetliners was deliberately crashed into the World Trade Center.
