When I first heard this story I thought that it was one of the best things I have ever read! I even have a couple of friends who have marriage pacts ranging from if they're still single at 40 to 60. And now it's like "How I Met Your Mother" is happening right before our eyes!

Kimberly Dean and Ron Palmer met when Kim was an 8th grader and Ron was a junior in high school at St. Agnes School. By fall of the following year, they were dating. Unfortunately, it didn't work out between the two of them, but they remained friends.

They both got married to different people and they both also got divorced, but Kim and Ron stayed connected the entire time. “I don’t think six months ever went by in all this time that we weren’t in contact," Ron recalled in an interview with the Star Tribune. They have always been there for each other. Awww!!

One day they were talking about Ron's work benefits and how he has no one to give them to. Kim then jokingly said that she would take them! So they made a pact that if they were both still single after the youngest (so Kim) turned 50, they would get married.

They never, ever imagined that it would actually happen, but here we are! Kim is 51 and Ron is 54 and they are getting married this Friday (the 1st) at the Como Park's Japanese Garden.

I only have grazed the surface of this adorable relationship these two have! They have been friends for so many years and have always have had each other's backs no matter what.
