Minnesota sent 11 Olympians to Rio as part of Team USA for the 2016 Olympic Games. So far, at least one of them will be bringing a medal back!

David Plummer grew up in Oklahoma. But for several years, he has called Minnesota home and he's the boy's swim coach at Wayzata High School in the Twin Cities. On Monday night, Plummer claimed the bronze medal in the 100 meter backstroke. At age 30, he became the oldest first-time Olympian to represent Team USA's swimming team.

Plummer, who was an All-American swimmer at the University of Minnesota, led Wayzata boys swimming team to a state title back in 2013.

He posted a short but sweet comment and photo on his official Facebook page Monday sharing his excitement.

Congratulations to Plummer and all the athletes competing and winning medals at this year's Summer Games!
