A Winter Storm Warning continues for our listening area until 6 p.m. on Saturday. Heavy snow will create dangerous travel conditions and the Minnesota State Patrol is advising motorists to stay home.

Lt. Robert Zak, of the Minnesota State Patrol told KARE 11, "We're advising everybody to stay home, if at all possible. Postpone any trips you may have planned. If you do have to venture out, make sure you're prepared for the trip.

If you must venture out - allow yourself plenty of extra time to reach your destination safely. Pack an emergency kit with extra clothing, matches, candles, food and water.

Heavy snow is the main concern for this evening. Travel will also be impacted tomorrow as gusty winds will create blowing snow and poor visibility.  Tomorrow night's low is expected to be 21 below zero and the high on Sunday will be seven below.

Travel will be dangerous all weekend. Stay home if possible.
