St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - Minnesota’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate slid a tenth of a point last month as the state’s economy experienced a net gain of about 7400 jobs.

The 3.7-percent jobless rate for April was a half a point lower than the rate from April of last year, but the state’s unemployment rate has been stuck in a range between 3.7 and 3.9-percent since June of last year.

The State Department of Employment and Economic Development says Minnesota’s economy has added 25,500 jobs over the past three months, while the year-over-year gain is over 46,000. That works out to a job growth rate of 1.7 percent, which still lags behind the national rate of 2.2 percent.

In the Rochester area, the economy has seen a net gain of just under 720 jobs over the past 12 months for a job growth rate of only 6-tenths of a percent.
