RAMSEY, Minn. (AP) — Authorities say police shot and killed a man outside a day-care center in Ramsey after he pointed a gun at them.

Anoka County Sheriff's Cmdr. Paul Sommer says the man was shot Thursday afternoon as he ran away from a "suspicious vehicle" parked outside The Learning Lodge.

Sommer says workers at the day-care center called police about a vehicle with three men in it. When officers arrived, one of the men ran from the car, pointing a gun at police. Police fired on the man, fatally wounding him

The Star Tribune reports no one in the day care was hurt. The children were moved to a nearby church. The other two people in the car were arrested.
