Mom Spends $9,000 on Kid’s Birthday Party!

I'm not sure why, perhaps it's social media and the fact that everyone wants to one-up each other, but kids birthday parties have gotten crazy. When I was a kid we had a cake, some presents, and a sprinkler set up in the backyard. Nowadays, things are a lot more extravagant.

Yahoo has a story about a mother that just dropped $9,000 on her son's first birthday party. NINE GRAND!?!?! Jackie Lam said she started planning the celebration when her son was 2-months old. 125 adults and 50 children attended the birthday party at a waterside venue. A buffet was set up for the adults and the kids got a special menu which included mini pizzas and sliders and there was a giant dessert station. Lam also hired a face painter, a balloonist, and a professional photographer for the event.
