Every fall it happens. The weather gets cooler. Darkness creeps in earlier and earlier. And these pesky creatures return...

While that may sound like the trailer for a horror movie, it's not! That's right, crows are congregating in downtown Rochester again. It's been a problem for years. The city has tried several tactics to disperse or remove them. But each time, the birds return.

And now, it appears they have set their sights on a new building in downtown Rochester. Construction isn't even complete on the new 501 on 1st Apartments development project, but last night dozens, or probably more appropriately hundreds, of crows came to roost on the building's roof. The scene was like something from the classic Alfred Hitchcock horror movie, 'The Birds.' Check it out for yourself...

The crow problem isn't going to go away anytime soon. In fact, last year the mayor of Rochester, Ardell Brede, even declared them Rochester's new official city bird...

Okay, so maybe this interview with Mayor Brede was all in jest for April Fool's Day. In any case, residents of the new apartment building probably don't find it at all funny that so many winged creatures are interested in sharing their space...
