No Travel Recommended in SE Minnesota
The Minnesota Department of Transportation is now recommending no travel throughout southeastern Minnesota.
Roads are covered with slushy snow, visibility is limited, and conditions are only expected to worsen. There have been numerous reports of crashes on roadways throughout the region, including a fatal crash involving a semi-truck on Highway 42 south of Plainview. Heavy snow began falling in southeastern Minnesota around 1 PM, and the National Weather Service is predicting the snowfall totals from the storm could exceed a foot in some areas. The blizzard warning issued for the region has been extended through noon on Friday.
