No Treat for Vikings in Chicago

Halloween was all tricks and no treats for the Minnesota Vikings Monday Night. Jay Cutler threw for 251 yards and a touchdown on his return from injury, and rookie running back Jordan Howard rushed for 153 yards and another score as the Chicago Bears upset the Vikings in Chicago.

Minnesota's rushing woes continued, as they ran for just 57 yards on 18 carries. The patchwork offensive line struggled for a second straight week, and Sam Bradford was sacked five times and under pressure throughout the game.

The Vikings also missed the special teams explosiveness of return man Marcus Sherels, who missed the game due to a wrist injury. In his absence, the back-up return men were unable to help get the Vikings start their offensive drives in good field position.

The Vikings defense also struggled, allowing Howard to average almost six yards per carry on his way to gaining more than 200 all-purpose yards. They also only managed to sack Cutler once.

Chicago, on the other hand, looked good with Cutler back at the helm. He controlled the tempo of the game for the Bears offense and finished the game with a 100.5 quarterback rating, completing 20 of 31 pass attempts, including finding Bears number one receiver Alshon Jeffery for a touchdown midway through the third quarter.

With the loss, the Vikings drop to 5-2 on the season. They've lost two games in a row, after starting the season with a five-game win streak. They'll host the Detroit Lions at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday.
