Noodles & Company has announced plans to close dozens of restaurants that aren’t meeting the company's expectations.

The Colorado-based chain said it would be closing 55 "under-performing" restaurants in the first half of 2017, according to thedenverchannel.com. The company has not announced which locations it will be shutting down at this time.

Noodles & Company was founded in 1995. The company has 510 locations across the country, with 43 of them in Minnesota.

Rochester has two Noodles & Company restaurants. One in northwest Rochester at 3944 Marketplace Dr and the other in southwest Rochester at 4607 Main Ave SE. These locations have always been busy when I've stopped in to eat, so I'd be shocked if they were "under-performing."

The company is worth an estimated $300 million.
