The conversation usually goes like this: "Hey Dad, can I stay up late" - "No! It's a school night!" "Aw, Dad yer not kool!" Multiply that by three, and welcome to my world.

There's a new study from the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute in Melbourne, Australia that early bedtimes are best, no matter the time the alarm goes off in the morning. The study showed that 8:30pm is the best bedtime for early school aged children. The early bedtime for kids paved the way for "better health related quality of life", than a later bedtime. A side effect of early bedtimes is that Moms of kids that go to bed early have better mental health! You can see that here. Teachers notice it, too, believe it or don't. An experiment by the National Sleep Foundation showed that kids that go to bed later had more problems with school work and paying attention.

Y'hear that kids?! Now go back to sleep!
