Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the person who was killed in a traffic wreck in the northeast part of the county on Saturday.

A spokesman says a car driven by 21 year old Jeremy Walters of St. Charles was driving east on Silver Creek Road NE around 5:30 Saturday afternoon when it collided with a westbound pickup truck. Walters died at the scene. A passenger in his car - 20 year old Andrew Andersen of Jordan, Minnesota - suffered multiple injuries, including fractures in both legs. He was reported in fair condition at St. Mary’s Tuesday morning. The driver of the pickup truck - 24 year old Christopher Finley of Chatfield - was treated and released.

The preliminary investigation indicates Walters was apparently on the wrong side of the gravel road as he approached a crest and collided head-on with the pickup truck.

The wreck happened in the 5400 block of Silver Creek Road, a few miles east of Quarry Hill Park.
