says they have overwhelmingly decided to endorse Kevin Torgerson. The longtime department captain is challenging Sheriff Dave Mueller in the November election.

Deputy Mike Bromberg is president of the Olmsted County Deputy Sheriff’s Association and says the recent endorsement total showed 95 votes in favor of Torgerson and none for Mueller. Ten members did not vote and there were 6 votes listed as undecided.

Bromberg says this is the first time in the 42 year history of the association that an endorsement for sheriff was made.
Bromberg says “ Mueller has failed to provide leadership, direction, and a vision to advance the Sheriff’s Office and ensure community safety. Although Dave Mueller is a nice man, he’s proven he’s not able lead one of the best Sheriff’s Offices in the state. “

The union consists of non-supervisory personnel of the sheriff’s department.

Here is Bromberg's official statement.
