As most of you know my wife and I welcomed our first child into the world a little over a week ago.  We were both a little anxious and nervous when we headed to the hospital the morning of Friday, August 8th... Not too anxious to stop at McDonald's first!  Hospital food gets a bad rap (more on that below) so we picked up breakfast and made our way to the hospital.

We arrived at the Olmsted Medical Center Hospital around 3:30am and were immediately greeted by a nurse who escorted us up to our room. The nurse did a quick check and determined that the baby was going to take it's sweet little time.   After hearing the update our doctor notified us that she'd be in as soon as she'd seen her patients for the day.  She arrived around noon and stayed with us until the baby was born the next day.  Dr. Brown, you are amazing!

My wife ended up being in labor for 32hrs - during that time we had 6-7 really awesome nurses.  These women were extremely compassionate and provided excellent care to my wife. Thank you, OMC Nurses!

We spent the entire weekend at the hospital which means we had to eat the hospital food.  I'm happy to report that it was delicious.  OMC's breakfast pizza is the best I've had. They make a great cheeseburger and their tater-tot hotdish was really good too.  Props to the cooks!

Throughout the entire pregnancy we've felt a lot of love from our family, friends, and co-workers. Samm put together an amazing baby shower for us.  We got several amazing gifts and tons of positive encouragement.  Thank you all for everything!

Last but definitely not least- Our listeners. I've received gifts and cards from strangers, countless emails and facebook messages, and every single time we posted something about our pregnancy you blew up our facebook pages with likes. This made me and my wife feel really special... for that I Thank You!

Our baby boy was born on Saturday, August 9th.

Which happens to be our wedding anniversary. #LifeIsGood
