Pay BEFORE You Eat At Restaurants – The New Thing?

An interesting new thing is taking over the restaurant world.  Making reservations may be a thing of the past.  Now people are being asked to pay for everything up front, including the tip.  Restaurant owners are saying they think it will save them money compared to those who make a reservation and don't show.

As a past server, I have mixed feelings for this new method.  I think it would be a quick and convenient way to go about things, but... ya know what, never mind!  It is a pretty decent idea for large groups especially.  BUT, as a customer, I'm not a fan.  There's nothing worse than having to tip a bad server well.  I ALWAYS tip well, but even as a server, I feel that every person should be able to tip what they want
