Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The Rochester School District is switching back to Pepsi.

The School Board voted last night to approve a four-year contract with Pepsi-Cola of Rochester for the exclusive beverage vending contract in the school district. The new deal, which is valued at a bit over $1.2 million, will go into effect after a five-year deal with Coca-Cola of Owatonna expires on October 1st. The contract with Pepsi, which covers vending machines, cafeterias and all events on school district property, runs through June 30, 2019.

Pepsi won the school district’s first ever exclusive beverage vending contract in 2003 and held onto it for 7 years until it was awarded to the Coca-Cola franchise in 2010.
