According to a post on the Rochester Fire Department Facebook page, the Pink Heals National Tour is bringing its fleet of pink fire trucks to the Med City next Wednesday, October 4th. The trucks will be making an appearance on the Peace Plaza in downtown Rochester, starting at 11:30 a.m.

If you're like me, you probably haven't heard of the Pink Heals tour, right? According to their website, it's all part of a project started by a former fire fighter who wanted to give back. A team of drivers bring their fleet of re-purposed fire trucks, police squad cars, and other emergency vehicles to different cities across the country.

And, it's all a fundraiser, too for various non-profits and groups, with all the money raised locally staying here in the Med City. The tour also makes stops to lift up individuals battling cancer to let them know they're not alone.  It looks pretty cool, and impressively moving. And, it's getting bigger every year. "Over the past ten years the Pink Heals program has evolved from a single fire truck driven solely by one volunteer to dozens of vehicles in 2 countries driven by hundreds of volunteers," the site notes.

You can get more information about the tour's stop in Rochester HERE.
