Pitching Like A Girl’s A Good Thing For These “Guys”
When the Little League World Series starts this Thursday in Williamsport,, PA, the town of Taney will already have an advantage when they play since they're also located in Pennsylvania; but they also have a secret weapon that every other team doesn't...
That weapon is their pitcher-Mo'ne Davis(pictured standing in the very center)
.
This 13 year old has a MONSTER curve and 70mph fastball, which is well above average. What's equally-impressive was Mo'ne's Sunday performance of a complete game shutout, striking out six batters, and only giving up three hits!
Oh yeah, one thing I forgot to mention: Mo'ne's a GIRL. And yeah, she also pitches overhand.
This will be her first Little League World Series. It's only the 18th time a girl has been a part of the LLWS in its 68 years! She hopes to lead her team to victory, marking the first time ANY team has won the series with a female player!
Watch for yourself when Taney plays their first game on ESPN starting at 2:00, and check out the rest of the Mo'ne's awesome story here(LLBWS.org)
