Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) – A Rochester man is scheduled to be sentenced in December for his involvement in one of the home invasions that occurred in the city this past summer. 20-year-old Kenneth Maclin recently pleaded guilty to a first-degree burglary charge in exchange for the dismissal of two other felony charges, including one count of first-degree aggravated robbery.

Maclin was accused of being among the four people who entered a home on Elton Hills Dr., Northwest in the early hours of August 14th. A man and woman living in the residence told police they were confronted by two of the intruders and one pointed a gun at them while ordering them to the floor. They then stole a number of items and took the woman’s purse.

The following day, investigators received a tip about a car seen near the crime scene that was later linked to another crime. Police soon located the vehicle and a search turned up some of the items stolen during the home invasion and a card with Maclin’s name on it.

The woman’s stolen purse was recovered during a search of Maclin’s home. Police also obtained a video from a security camera that ID’d Macklin as one of the intruders. Investigators say the evidence suggests the intruders had gone to the wrong house while looking for drugs.
