Police Standoff in Stewartville

At last check, an apartment complex in Stewartville was surrounded by law enforcement officers who are trying to reach a man believed to be in one of the units.  Olmsted County deputies were sent to the 100 block of South Main Street around 8:15 this morning in response to a domestic incident.

 A woman was able to escape and told the deputies a 29 year old man inside may have a gun. Officers have not yet been able to make contact with the man.

The building was evacuated as a precaution.

 The nearby Central Intermediate School has also been placed in a lockdown.
