It plans to feature some star-studded cameos from friends and collaborations like Bono, Mick Jagger and more.

Directed by Michael Kirk, the 13 Films production is set to chronicle the Purple One's career with commentary from the star-studded cast.

Among the additional folks set to appear in the doc include Billy Idol, Lenny Kravitz, Dez Dickerson (who joined the icon's touring band in 1979) and André Cymone (who played bass in his teenage band Grand Central).

While Prince: R U Listening? is set for release in Europe in 2017, there's no confirmed release date set for the United States as of yet. In the meantime, Prince fans can enjoy the previously unreleased, "Moonbean Levels," which arrived via the icon's new compilation, Prince 4ever, in late November.
