A Rochester woman has been sentenced to 10 years on probation for stealing from her elderly mother.

51-year-old Lisa Kaiser earlier pleaded guilty to a felony charge of financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult. She was accused of using her power of attorney to withdrawal over $138,000 from her 86-year-old mother’s bank accounts for her own use between February 2012 and last September.

Rochester police opened an investigation after other members of the family reported Kaiser had taken the money.

Her sentence includes 100 hours of community work service and over $160,000 restitution.
