Puddle of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin has been in trouble with the law before, but on Sunday morning he found himself in the Renville County Jail.

Scantlin was arrested and charged with DWI after leading a peace officer on a 100 mph chase around 4:47 a.m.  The Renville County Sheriff’s Department said Scantlin was first spotted speeding in 30 mile-per-hour zone and led police on the high-speed chase, charges said.

Scantlin eventually stopped at Highway 212 and County Road 16, and police said he smelled of alcohol, was slurring his words, and a preliminary breathalyzer test recorded a .310 BAC... nearly FOUR TIMES the legal limit.  So I guess you could say his vision was more than a little "Blurry"...

He refused to submit to further testing.

It’s unclear exactly what he was doing driving around in Renville County, but his band did perform on Friday at Halfway Jam in Royalton, Minnesota, more than 100 miles north of Renville County.

In my opinion: Puddle of Mudd has been on the decline ever since their first album, but, individually, I'm not sure if Wes Scantlin ever had his stuff together.  Maybe one of these days he'll wake up and realize what he's doing before it's too late?

Puddle of Mudd is slated to play their next show at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas on July 31st.
