Red Wing, MN (KROC AM News) - A Wabasha man who admitted he killed his girlfriend last year was sentenced to 30 years in prison Friday.

23-year-old Tanner Rix pleaded guilty last month to one count of second degree intentional murder in the shooting death of 28-year-old Angel Linderman, who was the mother of a young girl.

Rix told investigators he shot Linderman in the head while in his car near Red Wing in September last year. Police did not become aware of the killing until the next day when he called 911 from his car while near Baldwin, Wisconsin.The victim’s body was in the front seat of the car.

Rix was not formally charged with the crime until about a month ago. With good behavior and credit for time served, he could be released in less than 20 years.
