First of all, kudos to Hy-Vee in taking the necessary steps to recall this before the manufacturer recalls it and puts it at a higher risk! According to a press release from The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) Hy-Vee is voluntarily recalling its Spring Pasta Salad due to potential that it could be contaminated with Salmonella.

Seven cases of Salmonella Sandiego infection have been identified in Minnesota as part of this outbreak, along with 20 other people falling ill in South Dakota, Nebraska and Iowa.

The recall includes Hy-Vee Spring Pasta Salads in both 1 pound (16 oz.) and 3 pound (48 oz.) containers produced between June 1, 2018, and July 13, 2018, and available from the deli service case. The product comes in a plastic container with a plastic lid. The expiration date range is between June 22, 2018, and August 3, 2018.
