Robbers Using Rubber Bands to Break into Houses? See How!

One mom took to Facebook late last month after finding a disturbing discovery outside her door...

What harm could a simple rubber band cause?  This mom almost found out there hard way.

Kim Fleming Cernigliaro describes the incident on her Facebook wall:

“Two weeks ago during the day, a hard knock was at my front door, not a regular knock but almost pounding… and I DO NOT answer the door when I am here by myself.”

After the knocking had stopped, she decided to go outside and investigate what the commotion was all about...

That’s when she noticed the rubber band on her door handle.  For those who don't know, the rubber band serves to wedge the door open for the intruder.  You don’t even need to open the door; all you have to do is unlatch it and he/she can break their way inside your home.

It’s an extremely sobering thought for anyone who worries about home security and their own personal safety when they're home alone.
